Dr. Sushi Kadanakuppe was born and brought up at Mysore. Sushi Kadanakuppe completed BDS in 2003 from JSS Dental College and Hospital, Mysore, and MDS (Public Health Dentistry) in 2008 from The Oxford Dental College and Research Institute, Bengaluru. She started her career at Vokkaligara Sangha Dental College and Hospital at Bengaluru, India in the year 2008 as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Public Health Dentistry. She is pursuing PhD since 2011 under the guidance of Dr. Hiremath S. S, Professor and Head, Department Of Public Health Dentistry, Oxford Dental College and Hospital, at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, India.
She has obtained professional training in Life Skills, Human Rights and Social Harmony from Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India. She has also secured a certificate of accomplishment on ‘Critical Thinking in Global Challenges’ from The University of Edinburgh and ‘Creative Problem Solving’ from University of Minnesota. She has completed a short course on Educational Methodology for Health Sciences Professionals from RGUHS.
Sushi Kadanakuppe is a consultant in Life Skills and Peer Education for Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India. She is a member of National Resource Team on Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. She is a professionally trained life skills trainer who has conducted training programs across India since 2009. Her areas of expertise in life skills lies in facilitating the trainees in participatory activities to imbibe skills such as self-awareness, empathy, communication skills, interpersonal relationships, creative and critical thinking skills, problem solving and decision making skills and coping with stress and emotions to bring the attitudinal changes required for successful relationships with clients, customers, friends and family. Leadership skills, negotiation skills and handling objections are other special modules undertaken for specific target groups. She has covered various target groups including MBA and MCA faculty and students of various colleges, teachers, health care team, HR managers, technicians, billing and reception faculty etc. She has also conducted training to adolescent students in the area of peer education and core life skills development.
Sushi Kadanakuppe has 11 publications so far in National and International journals of dentistry. She is serving as Editorial Board Member for Open Journal Of Dentistry and Oral Medicine, Horizon Research Publishing, USA; Journal of Dental Applications, Austin Publishing Group, USA and Journal of Dental Problems and Solutions, Peertechz, India. She is also the Editorial Panel Member for International Journal of Oral Care and Research, affiliated to Ivan-Frankivsk National Medical University, Ukraine.
She is serving as reviewer for the Oral Health and Preventive Dentistry journal from Quintessence Publications, UK; Annals of Medical and Health Sciences Research affiliated to Nigerian Medical Association, Nigeria and Journal of Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry, official publication of IAPHD, India and others.
She is serving as Subject Expert and Subject Specialist at Macula Health Care for dental MCQs branch.
She is also an advisory board member for Strategy Technology Ethics & Policy (STEP) Advisory Board of World Health & Education Enrichment Links (WHEEL), India with the goal to enrich public participation in primary healthcare.
Apart from her career pursuits, Sushi Kadanakuppe has translated English versions of short stories written by Paulo Coehlo into Kannada language. These translation works have been published in Kannada Language Journals and state level magazines. She has published experiential articles in major Kannada newspapers on oral health and social issues like poverty, education and woman empowerment.
